Freshly Calibrated – “basic” calibration was done and here are the details:
  • Frequency Accuracy Calibration: Internal 100MHz Reference Oscillator was calibrated using a GPS Disciplined Frequency Standard driving a 26 GHz frequency counter.  This was used to obtain a frequency counter reading of exactly 10 GHz for a 10 GHz RF output frequency.
  • YTO (Yig Tuned Oscillator) Adjustments: YTO and other adjustments were made for:
    • Coarse Tuning
    • Fine Tuning
    • Frequency Offset
    • YIG Linearization
    • FM Coil
    • Ramp Center
    • Sweep Width
    • Center Frequency
  • Frequency Response Calibration: Using a 10MHz to 40GHz power sensor/meter setup (NIST traceable) frequency response (amplitude vs frequency) was calibrated and saved into a user-level setting.
  • Testing/Validation:  Finally, the signal generator was extensively tested over the full frequency range for both CW and Sweep (both Analog Sweep and Step Sweep) – see pics –  Also, tested over the full power level range of the attenuator, and the 0.1 Hz frequency resolution.
 
(We calibrate the signal generator in our lab using NIST traceable equipment.  However, we are not a certified calibration lab.)

  • Fully tested over various frequencies from 10MHz to 40GHz and power levels (from +13dbm down to -100dbm – in 5,10 dbm increments.)
